I’m used to being called a lot of things. I know how to react to each. While play’n darts today a gal called me a pansy. Now if ya seen “Back to the Future…” and remember McFly being called chicken, you understand.

Call me what you will, but a pansy? No… I’m an asshole after some jokes. I’m a dumbass after some ideas. I may be a douche if I compliment yer boobers and shake them. But a pansy… No.

I’ve came home covered in blood. “Pansy won’t head but a brick wall”. I’ve been kicked outta bars; wear’n a kilt, stick’n up for an ex, just fight’n. I’ve laid on an ink table for hours, done multi pierces, and drop pants for pierces… hell I’ve shown those pierces to a bar. Pansy? No.

Granted… I lost in most of those cuz I let my stupidity beat me, however…

Kinda funny, 10 worst tech products. The Cue Cat is on there. Really? The Cue Cat was very hackable and could have been great. After all in some places they use QR Codes to bring up things on cellphones and more. Think about it a little box on a biz card that someone can scan with a phone and get yer info? Killer right, right. Now take that a step further and do some augmented reality. WAIT WAIT… are you telling me that I can use a little bar code on a card to make a little 3d style movie show up on a iPhone or with a cam?

Noooo not at all, that’d be fucking stupid right?

Yeah I’m thinking, so double post. My jump to linux started a long time ago. Back with my first computer, well the family’s first computer.  Buying RedHat books for the CDs, linux mags with discs. Learning how to use DOS boot menus to load different settings. Expanding on that and learning to use boot loaders and partitions. Keeping a machine perfectly usable for the family, yet still fun to mess with. When drivers where hard to find and you had to use archaic commands to get things to work. That was linux.

Now linux for me is simple. I grab a thumbdrive, a cd, a dvd, all live boots. A full complete OS that I can use or install, or both… AT THE SAME TIME.  It’s fun really, I wish I could get more to switch. Really hate to tell ya but for the most, the people I know… it’d work perfect. It’s got to the point that I would fell perfectly fine giving it to my parents and family (and have), it does wonders for cutting down on calls to me.

I’ll take my software libre before I’ll take it gratis. Shame in English we have one word to mean both. GIMP and Pixlr are both free to use. One of them is libre the other is gratis (pretty sure). Photoshop is neither. Save money, work from any place, any system.

Recently I’ve picked up on a few Twitter,  Reddit,  and Digg oddities. I won’t give links cuz lets face it, you should know them (and many others). Sadly the title of this post has only a bit to do with the WinME thing, and start with a joke. Windows Compact Edition,  Windows Millenium Edition, Windows Network Technology! Now I’m sure there are people that started on the *NIX machines. The ATARI days, C64, the old stuff. Well I started on Win 3.1 and DOS. Had a 24oo baud modem and 4 megs of ram. Spent hours learning commands, syntax, reading and talking. I remember the tug of war with my parents over the upgrade to windows95. The jump to Win32, one MAJOR release. We had windows98 a bit later, I seem to remember improvement.

Try to keep a two year run going and use some buzz words… Windows ME and 2000. ME being the extension of the 9X and 2000 being the extension of NT (did I forget win3.11?). The real push to kill the <32bit was that shift, the business side. But the consumers that drive the industry picked it too. So XP was built off of NT, version 5.0 to 5.1. XP tried to do the bit shift without a new version, but lets face it XP lived a good deal of time… 9 damn years!  They started try’n to push the 64bit in 2001. Seriously what has taken us so long to go from 32 to 64 when all the rest went so fast? After all Moore’s Law should work very much in favor of that right? I need a math person….

Anyhow back to the title. Windows ME part 2, Windows Vista. Maybe… well shit lets do a google about windows 7 and this idea (hey 13th tab), and we find the answer here. See that part about DRIVERS.

Anyone that knows me will gladly tell you I’m probably not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to common sense. After all I’ll gladly ram my head into windows, walls, bricks, or sniff ground peppers and take shots of hot sauce. But even given that amount of stupidity I’m very very grateful for Fox News and it’s viewers that can voice themselves at FoxNation. I have read comments left on that site that would make someone from 4Chan blush. But really can you blame them? I mean this guy is who they worship. This is the same guy that will not deny the rumors that he may have raped and murdered a girl in 1990. I really hope that if you are a regular viewer of his show that you can see the delicious humor in that. But remember that he is not a journalist, he’s an opinion person.

Eh, thats all fine and dandy. There is just one tiny little problem with this. When a person that is “just an opinion person” is given a program on a major NEWS network some people have trouble understanding that. Do you know what happens when stupid people gather in groups? When these ill informed people that listen to Mr. Beck decide they should march? I’ll save you the trouble and show you the video. These people have no clue, they are just doing what was told to them by their leader. Now I’ll grant that the video person very well cherry picked those people. But I’m also going to bet he didn’t have to try very damn hard to find them.

Now I’d much much rather give you a link to a video of what happens when a opinion person on a comedy channel acts like a news person. But unfortunately they seem to be having issues so I’ll just embed it here.

Yeah, I don’t care much how it breaks the layout or don’t look pretty but still. I once again want to encourage you to look up some of the terms that are tossed around so freely right now. While you may find some of them are kinda right, what you will find even more is that they are not interchangeable words or ideas.

Then again, this is all being stirred up by pinheads who we voted for (no I don’t care what party you voted for) that can’t find time between lobbiest bribes to read a thousand page document. It is being stirred up by pinheads that get an email full of half truths and lies, and they are once again to lazy to read the document. Seriously you blithering mindless idiots have had a good damn long time to read that document and to have found out that a lot of you were lied to and riled up by very large corporation in an effort to protect an other very large corporation.

So tell me, you people that are up there saying “NO PUBLIC OPTION” and yelling to keep government out of health care. I want you to tell me which one are you? I want you to tell me why you’ll fight tooth and nail to keep a fetus from being scraped after a woman was raped, but not help pay for a child to have his teeth fixed. I want you to tell me why you are ok with spending $1 trillion no wait $1.6 trillion or wait… $2.7 trillion on KILLING PEOPLE. But you don’t want to spend a damn dime on saving people. You know what you got for your war? Yeah… you got them back for killing 3,000 innocent people. We killed some of their innocent people. We sent a lot of or friends and family over there and they got killed. We still have a hole in the ground at ground zero, we still haven’t caught Bin Laden. I can’t help but wonder if that money couldn’t have been spent in a much more productive way.

But what do I know, I’m just a brain damaged idiot.

I need a group of mimes. A mime troupe if you will. Then I need to find those shitty tv shows like ‘americans next top model’, ’so you think you can dance’, ‘dancing with the stars’ you know the type.

Now replace them with mimes and make a simple spoor. It just might work. Maybe I shoulda looked.

Those that know me, know I have a hatred for Fox News. Near as I can tell someone decided that using the method they use for reporting would be funny to use against them. Given that the Tea-Baggers and the Birthers seem to be the spawn of this news station it’s funny. But apparently Glenn Beck raped and killed a girl in 1990. He has yet to come out and deny these rumors or provide proof he didn’t. I could go indepth on this but there is already a site that is giving it to you straight with not spin. That site is here.

Ok so last time I wore a set of cuffs I did a few apparently WRONG things. I asked for a shirt with pockets from my house. Of course they searched it. Yeah, they found a bobby pin, just one. They didn’t find the other though. I’m also flexible enough to get them in front of me so I can see my wrists. Now why would this bother them? I don’t know, honest. Needless to say when they get pissed and ask you to put yer hands back behind yer back when yer in a slick seat and moving… not to easy. They really should have noticed I had my hands moved before they put me in the car.

I have an addiction for old video games. Probably has something to do with new games all kinda of sucking or being first person bullshit. Sorry, I’m a side scroller type and ya’ll just don’t make those anymore. I was happy to find out there was a mod to the old Super Mario World, a game that ate a lot of my time when I was younger. Enter Super Mario Omega and I’m happy. Well kinda happy, it’s hard shit. Right now I’m REALLY hoping that you have to go through part of the X Dimension to get to the next world. Only because after I beat world 3 it spit me out towards the start of world 2.

Most of the time people tend to look forward to the weekends. I seem to miss doing that. For me the weekends are just more work, only free work and “honey-do” lists. Not that it makes sense considering I’m very much single, but the skill sets that I have seem to be in rather good request, by friends and family. Most of them have finally reached a level of understanding that they realize I don’t want to do shit after work and they have to wait. Most have also reached the level where they understand that if they annoy the shit out of me, they will be last on my list. My favorites are the ones that can actually think though, I can tell them that what they need to do is very easy and give them a quick walk through and they’ll do it.

This weekend worked out pretty damn well due to these things. While I didn’t fix the Java hell on a buddies laptop I did find that she can upload her work using WebDAV and then set it up. My Dad appears to be loosing it in his old age though. At some point he lost the ability to read his own fuse box layout and due to changing the wrong braker gave me a call of panic. My aunt as nice as she is simply txt’s me when she has issues, by far my favorite way to be contacted. In the end it turned out that her modem had gone to the great beyond and we replaced it.

So here I sit on Monday. I can’t use my phone as a modem. I can’t set it up to do email, it appears I ripped that out am retarded and hide and moved it. TwitterBerry doesn’t seem to like my phone so using TwitPic is not so good. I have a fileserver at home that is in dire need of fixing. A machine at my desk that just refuses to fully boot into windows. Some cable to run, tv mounts to hang, and stuff I need to put on ebay. So who the fuck do I call? Really, I want to know. Who the fuck do I call when I need help?
